PAKISTAN CANADA CULTURAL ASSOCIATION SASKATOON
Saskatoon has been a destination for people from Pakistan for many years. Those newcomers to Saskatoon found themselves in a new country with different traditions and culture from what they had left behind. Not wishing to forget their heritage and language and to incorporate their new lifes, a group of dedicated families decided to organize and form the Pakistan Canada Cultural Association. A formal constitution was written and the first Executive committee was formed. Over the years the PCCA took part in several cultural events in Saskatoon such as Folkfest and in neighbouring cities and welcomed new families to Saskatoon.
As the PCCA was formed as a democratic organization, regular elections were held and the executive changed in response to the needs of the community.
As the community grew, the PCCA faced new challenges and yet the main purpose remains the same, to welcome new families to Saskatoon and enable them to retain their culture. The association welcomes all newcomers and encourages them to become members and participate in the activities of the PCCA. We welcome members who are not of Pakistani origin but wish to learn about Pakistan and its rich culture.
