Ladies Chand Raat Celebration

The ladies and girls of our community got together for a fun filled evening with music dress show and food at a local hall. The event was a success with all those who attended having a great time.

Thanks go out to our Social Secretary Mrs Anita Saleem for arranging the whole event and the spouses of the Executive Committee for helping out. Special mention to all the young girls who took part in the celebrations and without them the evening would not have been a success.

Look forward to seeing you next year!!

Pakistan Day Picnic at Pike Lake

PCCA is holding a Pakistan Day picnic at Pike Lake for members. The PCCA will provide the food and drinks and all you have to do is bring your enthusiasm and spirit. This occasion is to celebrate our homeland and our new lives in Canada.

In order to make sure that we have enough food for everyone, please try and confirm your attendance with Mrs Anita Saleem or by email to us (info@pccasaskatoon.com).

As mentioned above, this event is for members only but we wish to give all Pakistanis and Canadians an open welcome to this event, so the only requirement is that you must be members by August 13, 2009. So find the signup form on this website and get it to a Executive member as soon as possible. Let us know if you need contact information. Also please be advised that guests of members will be charged $10 per adult and $5 per child for the picnic.

Pike Lake is situated just southwest of Saskatoon and our picnic will be in a large hut in the campground area on your right once you enter the park. (To get to Pike Lake take Highway 7 from Saskatoon and a few miles outside the city take Highway 60 south to the lake).

There is ample parking and playground to have a game of cricket or soccer. There is also a playground for the kids. Directions to the park are on this website through GoogleMaps.

We look forward to seeing you there.

It appears that we may not have accurate email addresses of all members. If you believe that you are a member of the PCCA and are not getting any emails, please reply to our address with your message and we will correct our records and make sure that you get any new emails. If you just want to be on our list without being a member, thats fine too.

Potluck and Variety Program

PCCA held its latest potluck and variety program at Sutherland Hall in Saskatoon. It was a very well attended event and surpassed our expectations. The Pakistani community in Saskatoon has grown tremendously and we were pleased to see many new faces. Hopefully some new friendships were made as well.

These events are necessary for our community in Saskatoon and the participation of all is important. The arrangement and hosting of an event of this magnitude requires the active involvement of all members. I ask you to step forward and volunteer to help out with the next event, we have a need for people of all ages to make every occasion memorable. The only way we can make these events happen is through the membership dues and I again encourage you to join and get your friends and family to join as well.

We should also not forget our Pakistani heritage of warm hearted hospitality, generosity and friendship and make sure that these qualities are seen at every community event so that we all come together and enjoy the occasion.

I would also like to thank the Executive committee members who spent a lot of their free time and energy on this event and made it a success. A special thanks goes to our spouses who helped us to make this event possible.

All those volunteers (we know who you are….) young and old who ran the kitchen, placed cutlery and crockery on the tables, made sure food and drink were available, kept the children busy, helped to clean up the hall and kitchen after everyone else had left, emptied garbage bags, cleaned the toilets, picked up the tables and chairs; we cannot thank you enough for your support and generosity. Simply put, this event could not have happened without you all. Thank you from me and the committee.
